CANADA

Canada ranks among the most sought-after destinations for those seeking to migrate and enjoy a contented life. Encompassing a vast expanse of 9.98 million square kilometers (3.85 million square miles), Canada stands as the world’s second-largest country by land area. Boasting the 17th highest nominal per capita income globally and securing the 13th position in the Human Development Index, Canada is endowed with abundant natural resources and maintains a well-established international trade network, creating promising opportunities for businesses. Despite its immense size, the country maintains a relatively low population, making it an ideal choice for skilled professionals to plan their future.

Prospective immigrants meeting the eligibility criteria have the opportunity to apply for permanent residency in this remarkable nation through different immigration pathways. This journey unfolds in a structured sequence, including eligibility assessment, document submission, language proficiency evaluation, and the creation of an Express Entry profile. Among the numerous routes to immigrate to Canada, the most widely recognized options are the Express Entry and Provincial Nominee Programs.

Federal Skilled Worker (Express Entry)

The Canadian government introduced the Express Entry Immigration system as part of the Economic Class, which includes the Federal Skilled Worker Program, commencing on January 1, 2015.

Under the Express Entry system, individuals who qualify as Federal Skilled Workers in various eligible occupations and meet the minimum entry requirements can submit an expression of interest profile to the Express Entry Pool. These profiles are then ranked using the Comprehensive Ranking System, with the highest-ranking candidates being considered for an invitation to apply for permanent residence. Those receiving an invitation must submit a complete application within a 60-day timeframe.

Federal Skilled Workers are individuals with suitable education, work experience, age, and language proficiency in one of Canada’s official languages. They are selected under the Express Entry Immigration system to apply for permanent residence.

To be eligible for admission to the Express Entry Pool as a Federal Skilled Worker, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Possess at least one year of continuous full-time paid work experience, or the equivalent in part-time continuous employment, within the past 10 years in one of the 347 eligible occupations listed in the National Occupational Classification system.

2. The work experience must fall under Skill Type 0 (Managerial Occupations), Skill Level A (Professional Occupations), or Skill Level B (Technical Occupations and Skilled Trades) as defined by the National Occupational Classification system.

3. Score enough points under the skilled worker point grid, which comprises six selection factors. The current pass mark is set at 67 points.

4. Complete a skills assessment by the designated Australian assessing authority responsible for evaluating qualifications required for your nominated occupation.

5. Undergo language testing through a recognized third-party agency and demonstrate intermediate-level language skills in English or French, corresponding to the Canadian Language Benchmark of 7.
